App Lock is an Android application that restricts access to apps you choose using a PIN, pattern or biometric, and stores photos and videos in an encrypted vault on your device. By installing or using it you agree to these terms.
Your PIN, pattern and recovery password are stored only as one-way cryptographic hashes on your device. We cannot recover them for you. If you forget your PIN and your recovery password, and you have not set a recovery email, there is no way for us or anyone else to unlock the app or your vault. Please set a recovery option.
Files you move into the vault are encrypted with a key held in your device's keystore. That key cannot leave the device and is destroyed if the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared.
Move files out of the vault before uninstalling App Lock, clearing its data, or resetting your device. Once the key is gone the encrypted files cannot be recovered by us or by anyone.
App Lock does not back your vault up anywhere. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
App Lock raises the effort required to access your apps and files casually. It is not a defence against a determined attacker with physical access to an unlocked or rooted device, against forensic tools, or against malware already running on your phone. Android may also stop the app in the background on some devices in ways outside our control.
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Use App Lock only on devices you own or are authorised to configure. Do not use it to conceal unlawful material, or to restrict someone else's access to a device without their knowledge and consent.
App Lock is supported by advertising. See the Privacy Policy for what that involves.
These terms may be updated; the date above changes when they do. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
